Premium Digital Control & Automation brought a couple of distinctions for its outstanding smart technology integration service to South Florida. At the 2022 CEPro Awards held last September 29 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, it was hailed as one of the winners in the Best Budget category the 2022 CEPro Awards.
In a separate awarding ceremony on the same day, Premium Digital Control was also honored by the 2022 CEDIA Awards for two projects under the Integrated Home category. Both of these awards are an impressive feat considering Premium competed against hundreds of contestants internationally.
Premium Digital Control’s Randy Toth, President and Shaun Elwin, Project Manager and Design Engineer flew in from their Hollywood, Florida office to personally receive the CEPro Home of the Year award as well as the CEDIA Award.
The CEPro prize-winning project was for a luxury unit at the opulent Turnberry Ocean Club in Sunny Isles, Florida. The unit required full space automation with scalability and flexible customization in mind under a tight budget. Also, it had to meet client’s expectations by making the subsystems feel integrated into the household appliances.
“We designed the luxury unit’s smart technology system with a solid foundation in place for the future homeowner to customize it further with ease,” Elwin said. “Even better, we designed it as the property developer requested it to be – to make our smart technology system easy to use, as if it were part of a household appliance.”
Having set up the home for automation events – no human interaction, that is – also played a big factor.

Premium Digital Control certainly built a highly intuitive smart technology system designed for scalability and sustainability with a structured cabling system. Credit also goes to Kirk Ivy of Ivey Design Build for providing the interior design.
Winning an award is not new to Premium Digital Control. Last year, it won the much-coveted DMF Lighting award for, “Best Use of Multiple DMF Lighting Products.” This was for its outstanding work on a 9,000-square-foot penthouse at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton Residences in Sunny Isles Beach.
Premium Digital Control has also won the 5-Star Platinum Direct Dealer Award 2020 from Samsung as well as Best of Houzz 2019, Service from Houzz.
In the DMF project, Elwin led the team in turning the 9,000-square-foot space into a dream smart space, featuring 178 base and accent spots to house adjustable LED downlighting to illuminate the room flow, wall artworks, and the natural beauty of the location. In this project, Premium Digital made good use of DMF’s modular OneFrame system.
Other products added to the project included Control4’s Doorbell Chime and Control T4 Series 10″ Touchscreens with Control4’s user-friendly Neeo remote control.
